My 2019 is at 82k miles and I'm quite sure it has the original brakes! I bought it used with 75k on it and it has been obviously driven leisurely by the previous owner. I'm doing rotors and pads on it.
Questions:
  • Can I run the police spec rotors on this car? I'm fairly sure I can. Are they worth doing? I'm looking at Raybestos from RockAuto.
  • Pads...I've considered EBC yellow as well as their Extra Duty Orange formula. These are carbon fiber ceramic pads but they're quite expensive.

I've also been looking at Powerstop police formula pads but looking fo other suggestions.
TIA

I just placed an order for Wagner OEx pads and Raybestos coated rotors on Saturday for my 14 Sport.
I'm at ~122K miles on my original front brakes and around 50k miles on my 2nd set of rears.
Rears aren't completely worn, but figured I'd do front and rear.

I went back and forth on Wagner or Akebono, but went with the cheaper option.
OEx seem to get decent reviews.

What type of driving do you do? Any towing?

I ordered last night electing to pass on the police spec rotors after spending hours reading past posts on this forum. I then did same as you and ordered those Raybestos coated roaters but I went with Akebono performance pads. Rockauto.com had only the Akebono fronts though. I had to source rears elsewhere.

Surprised the akebono rear are not in stock. I had them in my rock auto cart before deciding on the wagners.

I think the police pads are semi-metallic for better high heat performance compared to civilian ceramic, but the ceramics are less dust and easier on rotors, at least that's what I understand.

I don't tow and drive mostly on weekends and some trips. I do like having great brakes.

The OEx pads are fantastic, I put them on our Armada too and they stop that beast like nothing.

I might have to look into those.

My PowerStop rotors are rusted like crazy after two years.

I want a good look and good stopping power.

Akebono are great pads , on my wifes 2017 i thought i’d go with motorcraft oem pads . I opened the box and on the side of the pad what did is say ??? Akebono !!!! There ya go!!!

Yep

If you ordered from rockauto, hopefully your parts come better packaged than mine.

I know some would blame the carrier, but the supplier should know a) carriers beat the crap out of packages and b) that's not how you package 60lbs of stuff.
