Thanks for the feedback! We are new to the ecoboost and just weren't sure if the clicking was normal or not. Sounded like fuel injectors to me but wasn't sure. I've heard a few horror stories about cam phasers, so just wanted to make sure. We do have a more exaggerated noise on acceleration, but the Ford place states that it is a loose heat shield and exhaust mounts.
I can tell you my 2021 Platinum has a very noisy engine, like yours at idle it's loud. It's a V6 and I think the same as a 2020 Platinum.
I've owned 4 other turbocharged engine vehicles since 2015 and by far the Explorer is louder at idle than all the others.
My dealership told me everything checks out AOK so there is nothing they can do. So much for the Platinum.

Here's a morning cold startup recording of my 2021 Platinum V6.
Engine oil is AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil, recently changed at 9,500 miles and changed every 6 months.
There were 9,700 miles on the vehicle when this was recorded and it's been in-service for 13 months.
This is a cold startup, vehicle parked in the garage overnight. The ambient air temperature was 64 degrees.
The recording was made on an iPhone SE(version 2) and settings were 128 kbps, 44.1 KHz, uncompressed WAV file.
During the first 32 seconds there's significant noise that sounds like valve train chatter, then it quiets down a bit. At about 45 seconds the idle drops.
Hope this helps put your engine sound in perspective.
