2020 Ford Explorer XLT
Hello. I have a 2020 Ford Explorer XLT. When running the AC in the car, one of the battery terminals is registering at over 400 degrees Fahrenheit! It melted the battery cover.

If the AC is off, everything seems fine.

Any ideas what to look for? Anyone else ever had this problem?

I included a picture to show where it is getting so hot. The strange thing is, there is no Wire on the post that is getting super hot, but the post behind it was also getting upward to 300 degrees!

How exactly are you measuring this temperature? Where's the melted part? Get a digital multimeter with an inductive DC clamp, and measure current (Amperes) through that rear wire with the A/C on, and without. This is an example of a decent meter with an inductive clamp that can measure DC current, but there are many others:
Also try removing the giant aftermarket cable that goes to the big fuse in the clear cover, to see if that changes anything.
