2022 explorer ST wheel interchangeability,18'' wheels from Mustang ?

Hallo canoe did this ever work out? About this you talked about before: wheel is 44mm offset and the explorer wheel is 37.5mm a difference of 6.5mm or about 1/4"
Just wondering if this ever worked? Thanks

Also, don't forget hub bore size. Even 5th gen wheels don't fit on 6th gen explorers.

Ultimately you can have whatever rims/wheels you want as winters as long as the bolt pattern fits and they clear the large brake calipers.

In most cases the reason why many owners choose the Police Interceptor Utility (PIU) steel wheels is because bolt pattern and brake clearance are guaranteed to work regardless of model/trim.

For me the PIU wheels have testing done to them that very few wheels do. The PIU rims get a 30MPH curb strike test which might not sound like much but its a big deal in snow if your sliding into something and you know the wheels aren't going to chip, break, or warp. The venting on the PIU wheels is also engineered to improve heat dissipation for those specific brakes.

My preference is always to take something designed and engineered for the vehicle Im using.

Price is reasonable too, or at least was when I bought them for under $100/wheel.
If I understand this correctly, steelies from a prior generation PIU will fit on a 2022 Explorer ST? I have a set of mud/snow tires on steelies for my 2013 Ex XLT and if they'd fit my ST that would save a bunch of money for me. Will I have to change the sensors?

Thanks for any information and my apologies for replying to a 2 + year old post.

The 5th gen Explorer wheel has a smaller center bore (63.4) than the 6th gen (70.5) so the 2013 wheels won't fit unless you increase the size of the center bore. The TPMS sensors are also different since the 2016+ models show individual tire pressures.
