I was having a big issue with the smearing, I changed out the blades with OEM blades twice and it didn’t fix it. Then I had a hard time finding non OEM blades to match up to Fords wiper arm.
So I went out and bought an inexpensive pair of the Michelin wipers blades at Costco, I took them apart and removed the rubber insert itself, then removed the rubber insert from the OEM and replaced it with the Michelin insert and they work perfectly. I think the issue possibly is with the imprinted letters and numbers on the OEM rubber insert that doesn’t allow the blade to be water tight against the glass.
