I'm thinking about getting some 20's for my 00 EX 4 door

I was looking on wheelmax.com but don't know what wheel size I need. Some say the size is 20x8.5 , 20x9 or 20x9.5 and have bolt patterns of Bolt Pattern: 5x135, 5x127, 5x139, 5x114.3, 6x135, 6x139, 6x127.. What do I need that wont require any spacers or mod etc for wheel I think most people here run tire sizes 275/45/20

Any other good wheel site free shipping doesnt hurt either :)

Thanks
Dwyane

There are more than one combination you could go with. You could go with all the width listed above, even going as wide as 20x10 like Hartman's. Bolt patern is 5x4.5 or 5x114.3. Just to give you another example, Black Magic has 20x9 with 35mm offset. They look really nice with that "tucked in" look.

The 3rd generation offset is a tad different than the 2nd generation, no? But really, the offset shouldn't mean much to anything at all. As long as the wheel has the Explorer bolt pattern and RWD, you'll be fine. 20x9.5's may be pushing it (even though Hartman has 20x10's, but he had to modify the well). 20x9's is your best best, and 20x8.5's are fine too. Remember, the bigger wheels and tires will give you more handling, but loose some power. So whatever you do, it will be a plus.

Let us know what you do. About 1 more week till mine get on the truck, the suspense is killing me. ;)

Don't go wider than 9 inches unless you have to.

ok so 20x9
now whats up with those bolt patterns?5x135, 5x127, 5x139, 5x114.3, 6x135, 6x139, 6x127?
Sorry if I sound dumb only thing i know is that I want the 275/45/20 for that low profile tire look but I dont want the tire buldge out from the side either
Thanks

5x4.5/5x114.3 is the bolt pattern you need.

Dang that was quick..
love this board thanks

Just to let you know, 275/45/20 is not a low pro tire, it's medium and will keep the ride pretty good, search the boards with some people with them, and compare it.

Thanks I'll do that. I just saw that most ppl used that size tire...
It's not as wide in comparison as the stocks is it?

Has anyone here ever used wheelmax.com? Any other good sites anyone can recommend? I looked at superbuytire.com also

I guess the wheels are something I can put on myself and then take to a shop and have them do my alignment or should I just let them do it all?

Thinking about lowering it 2" also. Seems like I heard that helps handling a little bit more...

On a sad note top of the line gas just hit $2 a gal here wont be long till 87 gets up there augh!!

Yes, that is the most used tire. It has about aa 4.5" sidewall all around and the tire itself is about little over 29". Hartman runs a 275/40/20, a little more expensive, but cuts the sidewall down about .5" and tire is just about 28". Trust me, it won't look like anything with the stock 6.5" sidewall popping out, you'll be cool.

Cool now I have to find a place online with some good prices. I guess I could look around here but when they charge .10 on the dollar in sales tax things get pretty expensive

I"m sorry... guys.. i'm newbie to all this modification.. but i'm hoping to have my 2002 sport to look like BMW X5 wheel set up.... you know... wider wheels on the rear?~~!
But as you have mentioned.. ideal is 9in width max.... i wanna have a biffed-up look on the rear by having wider wheels..... how did hartman made the wheel well work with the wider wheels....

Also wouldn't offset need to be specific depending on the width of the wheel?
Can someone help me?
