Just got the car. Dealer demo with 4400. Quick question! Do you guys hear a low rumbling sound, almost like a lugging engine sound if you owned a manual, when driving? We came from a Mazda. I'm not sure if it's the exhaust or just the performance engine...or a busted car. When parked or waiting at a light in neutral and then switch to drive you can hear the sound..which is obviously the engine and tyranny engaging. It's not bad..but sounds like a bassy rumble.

Not present accelerating, but when we were on the drive back from the dealer on the highway you could notice when letting off gas to slow down

No issue cruising.

Are other people's cars complete silent?

Edit: had it stopped with auto hold and hopped out. I honestly think it's the stock exhaust. I put my ear back there and that sounded like the source? Not sure

Welcome to the Forum.
I don't have the ST to check out. Sorry. There are many ST owners here and I'm sure someone will get back to you.

I don't have type of noise with mine at all. Hard to say what might be causing it.

Our 2020 Platinum has had the rumbles since we bought it in Nov of 2019. Actually, it's two noises. At low-speed, driving across parking lot pavement seams, there is a noise that sounds like a sway bar or something heavy rattling. I could live with that but the noise you're describing has become intolerable and worse over time. I've described it as a cardboard box full of rubber balls. It's been in the shop numerous times, the mechanics have replaced numerous parts but nothing changes. Ford knows about the problem but to date, they've ignored it, nor have they come up with a solution. My next car, when I can afford to trade, will not be a Ford.

Did you test drive another vehicle and notice the same noises? I haven't noticed any suspension noises. It really sounds like drone from exhaust

That may be because the exhaust flex pipe rattle at cold idle may be making a different noise at higher speeds.
