Hello Explorer friends

22 Ford Explorer Hybrid - Snow melting in Montreal and as I was walking up to the Explorer today (no mounds of snow) I noticed a wire hanging kinda hanging low’ish.

+ doesn’t seem normal the way it’s NOT attached anywhere + some of the wire(s) are unprotected.

Please see pictures

Pictures taken from passenger side - location … more less middle, little further front.

Is this normal?

Thanks

That sure doesn't look right. I would take it in and have it checked by your dealer.

I'm not sure what it is but I would have it checked out before it snags on something.

Pretty sure that's the exhaust heat exchanger, warms coolant with exhaust heat, the wire is more than likely for a sensor in the system. I'm guessing maybe some ice or slush pulled it down.

Okay Agree - personally this wire already looks repaired (black joint) OR is that where it supposed to “clip” onto to somewhere.

Anyhow I’m trying to stay positive here but this looks like its never going to be safe.

Should go up (hidden) over and down to where it connects

Not sideways clipped and then still connected attached in a loop. For heaven’s sake if I drive over some tree branches this thing is ripping off … apologies I’m frustrated.

Anyone know how the dealer should “fix”” this?

I have the exact same model (and colour). The wire is tucked up high and almost out of sight. Have the dealer check the connections before they re-attach it the wire to the frame properly. It was obviously not done right at the factory. You need to trust the dealer, or find another Ford dealer that you do trust.
