alright this is for my freind, who drives a 99 eddiebauer

If he gets a slight bodylift (about 2 or 3 inches), will he be able to ride 22s with a good size tire that wont rub or bust on every pothole?

DUDE!! seriously, every rim thread you post is "Will these fit"?.................WE NEED TO KNOW THE TIRE SIZE!!! RIMS WILL NOT RUB, TIRES WILL!!!! WHAT TIRE DOES YOUR "FRIEND" WANT TO RUN?!?!

dude i got my tires.

i dunno what size he wants. he jus wants to know if the lift will allow him to fit a l;arger size profile then the regular max would be.

they just wanna lift it enuff to fit the rims with good size tires, so they wont have to dodge every pothole (cant miss em all)

Obviously.

so itll be easy to do it and put some good size tires that will be able to hit potholes and not worry about them bending?

also what size would be the max fit with the lift? i think the max w/o it is like 40 maybe?

OK, Im just going to mention that if he puts on a body lift it will look incredibly bad with 22's. Hell, body lift look bad on off-road trucks if they arent done right. I cant believe Im saying this but if you want to lift the X to fit bigger tires just do a TT/ AAL. Your in Houston so your probably 2wd so its the cheaper way to go anyway. It will be better than a Body lift.

umm.. i can fit 33s with my BL. i think he/you/whoever this person is should get some 22s and some 33s custom made for the 22s. then you go hit every pothole that you see! i have a big gap all around still though so maybe he should get some 35s.

:hammer: :nono: :banghead: :D

this is gonna be horrible..why dont you just get your friend to get 20s and some good size tires. 22s on an X is like putting 18s on a geo metro, just dosent look right at all. With that said opinions are like poop tubes, everyone has one and most of them stink.

nah 22s on a x go hard.

Texplorer, what is a TT/AAL? He wants the lift to be totally unoticable, just there to fit the tires, but still appear to be the stock hight.

Well if you put any kind of lift and 22s on it it's not going to look anywhere near stcok height. And a body lift will look horrible with 22s. TT/AAL is Torsion Twist and Add-a-Leaf. The TT will lift the front and the Add-a-leaf will lift the back. If you really really have to have a lift that's the way you should do it, please don't do a body lift then throw 22s on there. This thing is going to look more like an Expedition than an Explorer.

And they can do that at most auto body shops or would i have to go to a suspension specialist?

and we know its not gonna look stock hight, i mean compared to the wheels (like the gap from wheel to fender to be the same as it would be with a smaller profile tire)

It's really simple to do yourself. The TT is just cranking on a couple bolts a few time and the add-a-leaf is simple also. Just take off your leaf pack, add the leaf and put them back on!

Yeah its pretty easy, in matter of fact have your frined bring it to me and Ill do it for cheap. Im only like 45 minutes away. Ill do the TT and put on the AAL or shackles on myself.

don't forget to have your friend post pics so we can all get a laugh

:chug: :chug:

Hell, while we're at it, how bout a 4 inch Superlift, 3 inch body lift, TT/shackles. Then throw on some 30s with a 400/75/R30 tire.

Bling bling yo.

lol... oh, c'mon Hartman, people might get the idea that this is possible. Soon we will see a thread, "Will 400/75-30 fit with a 7 inch drop?" :D

Wait a minute, this is possible... see for yourself.
