I was at my local tire shop today buying a set of tires for my daughter's '00 Mountaineer and the owner told me that the size 235/75R15 is being discontinued/phased out, as only older vehicles use them. Anyone else heard this? Maybe we'll have to buy our tires from Coker Tire in the future.

The 2004-2012 Colorado uses this size, the box Suburbans and Tahoes use this size, I doubt they're being discontinued. HE might be phasing them out, but I highly doubt manufacturers are phasing them out. 2nd gen explorer/mountaineers and box suburban/tahoes alone are a **** ton of vehicles that I still see a lot of on a daily basis.

I see no shortage...

Through my normal tire supplier at all...In fact they seem to offer a better selection than in the past...Even though I use 16" tires on my Ex, there does not appear to be a problem getting that size tire for the Explorer...

Maybe it is time for a new supplier???

Nope. Still tons of these being made, shipped and sold.

Very common size.

Easier to find them than 31x10.5x15..
