Hi,

I am hoping someone can help me, I have an 03 aviator with the 2 bench seats in the second row with the center console. I am wondering if anyone knows or can help with some measurements but can the console be unbolted and the middle seat be bolted in making it the 3 seat middle row. Or do all three seats need to be changed to have the 3 seat row?

Thanks

Where are you located and what is your interior color? I know people who may want to trade the 40/20/40 bench seat from their explorers for the aviator seat with console (myself included).

Hi Brent,

I am in Michigan, I am actually not looking to trade, but see what the possibilities would be to be able to switch the console and middle seat out as needed.

Thanks

Ryan

Avaitor and the Ex are the same for the most part, bolt wise. When i removed my Center Console in the Ex it was held down by 4 large bolts that would be used to hold seats or seat belts buckles. There where 4 smaller bolts holding the console to a bracket, then the bracket was held by the large bolts. If you pull it out, its easy, you will see what i mean. BUT the color match maybe a bigger issue, Lincoln's use a different color scheme.

Thanks JR, that is what it looked like, but I wanted to make sure that the left and right seat aren't different for the 3 seat row giving more room for the middle seat. I will probably use an aviator seat, I think I found one locally even, so that is good, just trying to do a little fact finding before I buy it.

Thanks

To put a follow up post in case anyone else is ever looking to do something similar.

The left and right seats are different with the middle row console and middle three seat row. For the seats with the console, they are about 2 inches wider then with the middle seat, so the middle seat will not fit between them.

You could probably get away with pulling the middle seat and putting the console between them, there would be a little bit of gap between the sides of the console and the seats, and you would need the separate seat belt receivers, but I think it would work.

hey ripper. theres some people on here that have done that swap... usually from the 7 pass to 6 pass. ultimately, it should be a direct swap. if you get a used middle seat just make sure you get the belts with it... kinda a plug and play. the outboard seats in your 6 pass Aviator are the same as my outboard seats in my 7 pass aviator. just havent found a center console... not to mention I need to invest the $$ with all of the problems my truck has.
