I noticed that the 4WD drive Explorers have a control on the radio bezel above the cigarette lighter. However, if you pull the bezel on the 2WD (without the switch) version, there is a connector with 4-wires just clipped there and appears to be unused. I put a volt meter on the wires, but I didn't get any readings. Can this connector be activiated? Can we steal constant 12v or accessory 12v from it? It seems like a really clean, nice place to pull it from. In fact if you could find a mating connector maybe it would look even that much cleaner.

To get that connector to work, I would think you would need the 4WD GEM. If you follow those wires, they probably deadend somewhere back in that cubby hole.
