after searching through numerous posts about the 3'' body lift, this is what i came up with:

on a 96 xlt v8 awd.
-performance accessories 3'' 98-01 ranger body lift
-with 95-07 steering extension

then i will have to modify the bumper brackets right?

i dont have my explorer yet, but im going to get a 96 xlt v8 5.0 awd pretty soon. i want to know what the stock gearing for this explroer is so i will know if i will need new gears for this lift. ill do the TT and warrior shackles too, and i plan on running 33's. this should fit- from what ive read.

how much does this lift cost?
if i had a shop do it, how much would labor cost aprx?

thanks a lot, its gonna be TIGHT

Yeah that would work, but i do not believe that you will ba able to find a shop that will do it. You could look around for shops, i did find one and only one that would put a body lift on my truck and they were in Florida. But i said oh well and i will do it myself. The body lift is like $125 and the steering extention is like $50 after you do this lift, yes you should ba able to fit 33's. You will have to get the truck, and then look at the axle code to determine the gearing.

Yomie....where in FL did you find this shop?...I live in FL and have a 96 EB 4wd and want the 3" body lift but have no knowledge of that sorta thing, and dont want to chance it by doing it myself. If you could tell me the name of the place and the city and if you have the phone number....i'd appreciate it...Thnx

It's somewhat close to you, it is in Jacksonville, FL called 4X4's and More. My dad actually found the place for me, then i decided that i will do it myself. I don't have the # anymore i will try to get it from my dad. their price wasn't too bad either, I remember saying something like $130 for the Body lift and like $208 for the install, i can't remember exactly but that was at the beginning of the summer. They were really anxious to do it, before i changed my mind. I have seen alot of the lifts that they have done. All of them 4X4's in jacksonville like the Toyotas on 38's and 35's have been done by them, there is also a Dodge 4X4 dually on 39.5's that they did also

thnx for the help....they didn't say how long it would take to get it done did they?....I live bout 3 hrs from there so it might kinda a chore if it is going to take quite a while for them to do it. If you find the number pls email it to me at both popbydmand@aol.com
and redsfan4eva@yahoo.com Thnx a bunch. I will go search for a website.

I don't remember how long they said it would take, they used to have their website up but right now it isn't up, i already looked. I know there are several 4X4 shops in Jacksonville you could look around

thnx again...also what sixe tires you think i could get under the 3" body lift?

CHRIS THERE IS A PLACE IN RIVERSIDE CALLED CUSTOM MOTORSPORTS. THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO CUSTOM MAKE A BODY LIFT FOR YOU. THEY DID MINE AND IT COST $600.

hey gijoe, how does it look? are you happy with it? sounds pretty good to me... THANKS A LOT MAN! ill look into that place and give them a call.

P.S. - do you have any pics of your explorer after the lift? if you have some on your computer, could you email them to me? i really want to see how it looks. ( cush007@hotmail.com ) THANKS AGAIN!

ALSO CUSTOM MOTORSPORTS WILL CUSTOM MAKE SUSPENSION LIFTS BUT THOSE START AT $1500.ALSO IF YOU WANT A SUSPENSION LIFT MAYBE TRY CAMBURG IN HUNTINGTON BEACH.

The stock gearing is 3.73, I think.
Good luck with the lift and don't forget to post pictures! I want to do a 3" body lift on my 98 5.0 AWD.

You could definitely get 32X11.5's with out rubbing, if you do the Warrior Shackles and the TT at the same time you could fit a 33X12.5 with minimal rubbing

Don't have a shop do it...

You and a couple of your friends could do the body lift in about a day. Check out these instructions...
2001 Explorer Sport 3" Body Lift
These instructions will work for any 95+ Explorer. Also, You will be able to fit 33s, but you will have to do a little triming on the fender bottoms. Look at a good 32" tire. Lastly the bumper brackets can be made to work with you X.

Will this same body lift work in an 01 Sportrac?

Yeah, Talk to trckmagik
