I have a 95' explorer 4x4. i have cranked the torsion bars and put some 31" tires and eagle 058 rims on my truck.but as far as the exterior goes i want bigger tires and i want more lift. but as many of you probably know they dont really make a low dollar lift for my car, if made at all. I went to a place called custom motorsports, ( www.custommotorsports.com ) and the guy there said he would sell me the bodylift for a 97 ranger and change the bumper brackets with some that would fit my car. that is what i have heard will work and i am hoping what i have heard has some truth in it. he is gonna sell me the kit for $125 but he wants $400 for installation. so here is one of my quesions, would it be smarter to install it myself or pay. how much experience is needed or is it basically a bolt on job? also for my next question. i am gonna run 33-12.50-15's on my 15x8 eagles. i have been lookin around and i wanted the BFG t/a m/t's but $160 a tire is a bit much. I found some General m/t's with an almost identical tread design. should i go with the bfg's and spend a lil more or try the generals and hope they will last as long as bfg's would? thanks a lot

p.s. i need your replys and any info you can give me, thanks

if you have confidence in yourself to do the job, read up on some write ups. I did the 2" BL for a ranger and put it on my '97 explorer, i did it my self and it took me about 6 hours or so, the bumper brackets that you need are in the 98+ reanger kit, but the BL kit that you need IS the 95-97 ranger kit (he is correct on that one) the BL is not to hard, just alot of bolts, lift blocks, and a lil bit of relocation on the radiator and so on. I say read up and try it yourself, theres plenty of us here to answer any q's you run into during the installation

As far as tires go, i have heard good things about both of them, if money is an issue go with the generals, if no go with the BFG's. I know SPlashMan is running the 33" General on his explorer and he likes them alot. it really depends on what you want and what your willing to pay for it

me personally i'm looking into getting the 33" Trxus MT's from www.natltire.com for 548.60Dead Link Removed

BL installed yet? I too have a 95 XLT and am thinking about this mod.

Is there a 2" BL, not sure I want 3"...Thanks
