I ordered a body lift from an internet site, for my 97. I tried to get the 2" for the 1st Gen, but I got a 3". I know that the Ranger body lift will fit fairly easy, but I was wondering if anyone knew if I would have trouble with the 3" for the 1st Gen. I could send it back, but its a pain with shipping, so I was going to try to make it work. I am not worried about the bumpers, cause i sord of have custom brackets already made. Any advice would help a lot. Thanks

If you bought the Performance Accessories bodylift 853, you shouldn't have any issues. All you need to do is get the bumper brackets made and possibly grind down a little of the metal on the steering link. On mine there was a little that had to be grinded down cause of some extra metal left on there.

Just checked it out online, and the one that I recieved was the 793 kit for 91-91 Xplorers. So I am still wondering if it would work. I will prob just go and order the Ranger body lift.(since it has been proven to work). I just dont want to spend the time dealing with all the ordering.

yeah I forgot to add you need to order it for the Ranger.. They don't specifically make one for the Explorer but the Ranger on can be modified to fit.

Yeah thats what I was thinkin. Thanks for the info.
