i was looking at my wheel well yesterday and saw that the front tires would come mighty close to rubbing against the upper ball joint or whatever that part is called that is near the top of the wheel. i could get wheel spacers but id rather not if i dont have to, especially on the front. i could torsion twist the front but that will only raise the frame not the position of the part that gets in the way. any advice?

i have a 12.5inch tire on the factory rims...i only rub on the frame when I turn all the way to lock....no issues with the ball join/spindle area.....

sweet dude thanks. i bought teh 11.50's today and just tortion twisted for a little bit more space. and now im about to go to autozone to try to find shackles. that will fit. someone told me they have generic ones that will work, even though i heard some of the bolts dont fit in the bushings im gonna check it out to see anyways. thanks man.

Yea the bolts that come with kit fit too lose in the spring eye bushing but if you drill out the shackle bolt holes you can use the factory bolts which fit nicely. Some people say they make the rear end sway beacuase of the lack of the center support like the warriors but I havent had a problem yet. Also they arent built strong enough for hard wheelin so be wary.

right. tonight i put on the shackle lift. after i finished the torsions so i can get the 11.50's put on tomorrow. instead of drilling out the holes, i put in the aftermarket bolts through and they fit with no problem. they were not loose, they were snug. there was no up and down play of the bolts. tomorrow im going to lowes to find another bolt to put through the middle hole with a larger spacer that fits inbetween the two rails for the shackle. if that doesnt make sense it will look like this.

hopefully that will add some support so it wont bow in either direction. if any mechanic shops are open tomorrow then i'll try to find one that will mount and balance my tires. other wise im gonna have to do it by hand. i'll take some pictures with either way it turns out.

I guess the sec gens are different. Thats a good idea with the spacer in the middle, I just ran the extra bolt through the middle. Whered you get that spacer from and how long is it?

you can get them at lowes for a couple bucks in the hardware section. if your leafs are the same size as mine the spacer should be a little bit shy of 3 inches.you might have to tap it in place with a hammer for a snug fit.
