They have served me very well. I've had 3 sets on my 92 X so far. One flat and was able to get the soft shoulder with no problems. (And it went down very quickly, had a rail road spike in it)
P.s. it’s on stock rims with no lift here's my newest ones

i rolled once on firestone atx tires and one on my 31" bfgs..... both were driver error and had nothing to do with tire failures....

UPDATE: i got 31x10.5 pirelli scorpion a/t and i love em! thanks for your help!

do you have any pics? did you lift any? tt? shackles? any rubbing?

they are not safe and for good reason....
once you get 31s you will instantly be filled with a new sense of satisfaction and self fulfillment. then you will read a 4x4 mag that says that 33" tire is smallest for wheeling in. that will plant the seed of self doubt. then its a downward spiral much liek a heroine addict you will begin planning and scheming on how you can get newer bigger badder tires. and it wont quit until you get the next set. you find your self challenging the system, taking on the world in your 31s that you at one tiem were convinced could carry you through the deepest jungles and over the biggest rocks. disgruntled postal workers will look to you for inspiration. go ahead and get the 35s and find a way to make them fit - you wont be happy until you do.

:D just kidding im rampped up on coffee waiting to go to lunch.

i loveed my 31s on my stock rims. they were perfect combo IMO.

hmm...it would seem that i forgot to upload the pic of the whole car...

they look pretty. go get those things dirty man!

hehe yea i have been! nothing much, just some mud puddles and the like but they do look good dirty!

31 x 10.50's are about a natural... You will find that the extra tire helps, not hurts.

I would prefer an 8" rim, like some others have said, but we have wheeled 31's on 7" rims with no adverse affects.

Just match the tire TYPE to the style of driving that you do... If you are mainly street driving then get something in an AT type tread - you would not be happy with pure mud tires. We have had good luck with Dayton's on our 97. They wear like iron and hold their own on bad/slick/icy roads.

Have you gone over any good bumps with the new tires?
When I put my 31's on, and I have the same rubber as you, they would rub both front & back if I hit a big enough bump or dip in the road.
1.5 TT & AAL and no more rubbing, in fact I've tried to get them to rub with no success since the lift!!! :bounce:

if you tried to use them for a life preserver   :p :p

Wonder if my parents would look at me weird if I tossed mine in the pool? :D Don't tempt me!!

I'm throwin some 31's on my X this week, but with new wheels too. I can't wait to feel how the X handles!

you'll probably have to take the rims in separately to have tires put on, at my workplace they won't allow any size thats not an option mounted on a vehicle, but if you bring just the rims in we will put on anysize you want, and if they ask what they are going on, just tell'em they are going on a ranger :D

hmm .... anyone try to run 32's on their second gens?

I have 17's and my only option is to go with 265/70R17's which measure anywhere from 31.5-31.9" depending on the manufacturer... any input would be appreciated!

I have 31x10.5s, and after 4 months of aggresive driving (switching across 4 lanes on I-95 at 85+mph), it has not flipped or rolled, if anything I can say it seems more stable than before.

i just got my 31x10.5 bfg ats and love how they feel. I can tell its a different kind of drive. Used to have michelin ltx ms but they squeeked and peeled and what not. These are awesome tires and you will not be dissapointed. The only thing i recommend is holding the wheel tight going over big bumps at fast speeds. Bigger tires seem to jerk and lose control alot easier. you'll know what i mean when u get them.

I know of a good friend of mine who had(and still has new ones) 31" BFGoodrich tires on his S-10 and his blew out on him while driving "normally". Don't know how often this happens!
