4.0 Exhaust Clip Thread !

thanks guys

my buddy has a Dodge Ram with a 318 and a Delta Flow and he told me my X sounds like a miniature version of his truck :D

i went cruising for about 3 hours last night just cuz the weather was nice and i love the new sound! my gas mileage has improved too, as well as my torque all the way across the powerband! of course, there really wasnt anywhere to go but up considering my previous exhaust.... (true dual glasspacks)

sounds good, but something has to be done about that tail pipe lol. What did you use for the video editing?

What's wrong with my single tailpipe!? lol
i used Apple's iMovie HD

i might keep my dual 40 series flows or i might get the dual super 44 series i am not sure yet.

be careful, i've heard some say that the super 44 sounds pretty rough on the 4.0L...

i am gonna get the true dual i am saving up for it

Then be prepared to have no back pressure unless you run 1.5 inch piping, right now i have no tails run on a dual out 2.5 flowmaster, and it sucks, the truck has no get up and go anymore... i'm saving every penny i have to get 2.25 tails run. like many have stated on here.... the 4.0 needs backpressure.... a lot.

I second this. I personally ran dual Flowmaster 50 series and had to switch to single 2.5" pipe due to loss in low end power. It sucks

ok here is mine its a 92 though,it has pacesetters headers, gutted cats and 2.5 to a glasspack and dual pipes out,o and i got it done a big als just a cheap system for like $199 but i really need an exhaust because mine fell of one day and i think it sounds really good for being so cheap.motor is not stock at all by the way:D

haha yea im in the process of pulling it right now again,i think i have a small crack in the block, yea it sucks.im also doing a little more work to the motor to get it ready for the 150 shot im going to be trying to spray!!:D ill be going to a bigger cam and having some more lower intake and head port work done. it should sound just a little different after i get done.ill have to post a sound difference after im done!!:burnout::burnout:

this thread is intense when you go through it all. I recently decided on replacing mine and would rather spend the money right. No one around town can give me what model flowmaster they carry. Though all seem to point to flowmaster rusting. A brand called incinerator is also carried (that does not rust), has anyone heard this? or heard of them? I asked what model flowmaster they sound like the guy said he didn't know. The shop I like does all its own bending, which raises the question for flow is single in and out good also what diameter is good (given a larger intake, tb, and maf housing)? On a side note I do like gibson, but can't find anyone in the orlando area that carries it.

Single in/out in the 2.25" to 2.5" range will flow just fine for you. I was partial to the Cherry Bomb Pro for the OHV, which is what I had on my Sport. Most tend to like the Flowmaster 40 series.

syn- I agree with you when you say no one can tell what flowmaster they have. When people say they run flowmaster 40 series, they dont understand there is 3 different types of flowmaster 40's- with each having its own distinctive sound. Have you thought about ordering a muffler online and getting it done at a shop? Amazon.com sells flowmaster mufflers and ships them for free. And they are cheap
