- '98 Ranger XLT 4x4 ExCab
I have a 1998 Ranger 4x4 XLT with the 4.0 OHV that is my daily driver. I recently picked up a 1997 Explorer Sport with the 4.0 SOHC for a parts vehicle, it has the usual timing chain noise.
I plan on stripping any usable parts out of it and scrapping the remainder; my original intention was to take the seats, overhead console, center console, tires and rims, cruise control switches (since one of mine is broken), etc...
My question is, does anyone know, or is there an easy place to look up, if any of the parts like the transmission (both are automatics), alternator, starter, anything of that nature is interchangeable? If I'm already stripping parts, I may as well grab anything and everything that may be useful later.
