i'm thinking about doing a few upgrades and i was wondering if anyone had a setup similar to what i was thinking of doing so i can decide if i want to spend the money.
intake: custom made intake with a larger MAF and throttle body. possibly a custom made intake manifold if i cant find one online and if i feel like i want to weld one together.
heads: remove, rebuild, port and polish the heads.
exhaust: performance headers, two high flow cats 1 per header, then a 2 in 1 out muffler. preferably the muffler will have dual 2.25in inlets and a single 2.5in outlet. i would like to use 2.25in pipes from the headers and 2.25in cats to keep decent back pressure.
after all that i will have the ecu flashed or buy a performance tuner if one exists for this application. i would rather have a tuner so i can monitor the A/F myself and adjust timing and the fuel injectors. if someone knows where i can get something like that i would greatly appreciate it if you would post the link.
but anyways, anyone running a 4.0 ohv with a setup at all like this? if so would you please tell me what kind of power gains you are seeing. thanks
