why limit yourself to aftermarket upper only?? go for a matched set of upper/lower. thats where the most benefit will be seen.

a 3rd party upper with the stocker lower will probably be mostly for looks, as the maximum performance improvement will not be realized.

I've emailed Tom Morana over at http://www.moranav6racing.com/ about having my Upper and lower intakes ported/polished. Here's what he emailed me in return.

It would be best to get a used upper and lower and send them together for porting, Josh. Cost for doing both will be $175 labor and if you want them solvent tanked, bead blasted and coated with 500 degree rated ceramic engine enamel, that's another $50. You said you could clean them up, so the $50 is an option if you choose. I'll be here when you're ready.

The plastic molded upper is the best stock option.

It can't be ported, but the inner walls are smooth. And it weighs a few lbs less than the aluminum one.

If you are going to have your intake ported, Tom Morana is the THE MAN when it comes to the Ford Pushrod V6.

so i am limited, to port and polishing a stock upper and lower. wow what a bummer. ill probably do it but i wanted a different look too

Your not going to see that mcuh of a gain. If it were a boosted application you could possibly build an upper box style manifold.
