4.0 sohc 2500-3000 ping problem (warranty info)

ok, i've read all the discussions on the problems with a pinging in the sohc engine from the 1997-2001 explorer models. most people i have talked to told me that it would be covered under the 3/36 warranty but i just found this and was wondering if anyone else has seen this?

im am taking my car in to ford tomorrow to have them look at a few things and im gonna talk to the guy about it.

Yes, ONP 00M12 has been known around here since 11/00. It is unrelated to the pinging that some people are experiencing at the 2500-3000 RPM range. ONP 00M12 covers a diesel type sound when you first perform a cold start. It goes away after a few seconds. The 2500-3000 ping is a noise that sounds like a pinging noise at the operating range mentioned. It doesn't go away after a few seconds.
