4.0 sohc block interchangeable E or K

I have read that the trucks 8th digit vin numbers E and K are interchangeable. I have a 2003 2wheel drive explorer with k, I found an E from an 2010 4 wheel drive ranger with sohc motor, are the blocks the same? I cound just swap the intake valve covers, and front cover?

Blocks should be the same, I would move over the fuel components as well.

I bought the sohc ranger 4x4 5spd motor today. I will keep u all posted it it works!

I just had to swap over the intake and fuel rail with injectors, but so far everything is the same, it bolted right into place.
