Hey

Has anyone heard of an extended warranty by Ford on the cassettes? Some mechanic told me that ford has a not so known warranty that extended the cassettes to 10/100,000 mile warranty? I know it does not show up at alldatadiy.com and he claimed he found it in a mitchell guide. Does anyone know what a mitchell guide is and better yet, has anyone seen this?

TIA

I'm not sure what you mean about cassettes. Go to alldata.com and there is a list of all the recalls and such...

The cassettes are the timing chain and the plastic gear/sprocket that the chain goes around. If you have a current membership to alldatadiy.com you can see these in illustration. And like I said in the post the mechanic guy said alldata did not have this information he only found it out through Mitchell(whatever this is-- a repair guide?). the warranty for the chain guides and tensioners on the fronts were extended but nothing was extended to the rears. However if there was coverage on both cassettes to 100K would fix a lot of problems for some owners on the board. Since my alldata subscription expired(without any notice from them  ) I don't have access to the dealer letters etc.

At 67,115 mi. my engine was replaced under warranty for the cassette problem. The authorization code was 0752. Hope this helps?

Razor,

Did you have an extended warranty?
