There are some tuners in Florida. I know there is a good one on the other coast. A friend drove his lightening from PA down here for the tune. Let me know if you want the info and Ill drop him a line.

He does not have the pricing but here is the website. There is also one in Naples but I do not have the name.

Dan one thing you may want to keep in mind is that allot of tuner's are very hesitant to touch custom combo's with which they have no previous experience. Though James is further away he does have experience with combo's like yours and will take care of you too. There are some items more important than a tuner's proximity to you. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

I totally agree with Rocket but talking to a couple of tuners and telling them the game plan will give you an idea. Just like my friend he researched and contacted many some close to home. He decided on driving more than 1000 miles for what he wanted.

Oh I would definitely use James on this, no doubt about it. I've talked to him through several emails now. It just never hurts to know some local (or semi-local) tuners for feature stuff.

thats using the thinker :D if you have a total shutdown other options are a must in Florida its like everything is in one area If i was going to open a tuner shop in Naples and there was 5 of them alread I would think about another location but not in florida its nuts

Please remember once you get tuned by a dealer with the SCT software, if you carry that vehicle to another dealer he will completely have to rewrite the tune from the ground up. Unless the prior tuner will surrender the tunefile he wrote. I wont do it, not many others will either. I am eager to tune the strange combo, just let me know.-j

Sounds like a plan James. And what do you suggest as far as the other bolt ons are concerned?

Also, out of curiosity, the only s/c's available for these are the Kenne Bell (fab required) and Allen (with the Allen being pretty much direct fit). Right?

If you do the Allen Systems I would like to here the final numbers.

The only bolton kit is the Allen M90S kit. All others will require custom fabrication work. Kenne Bell can be made to fit but there are aspects that will be a pain in the butt. I do not recommend the Kenne Bell job as it can get to be difficult if a person doesn't know what they are doing inside out, front and back.

The Allen system is ok, but for the money you are paying you could have a turbo system putting down much more power per pound of boost. That translates into you hitting your power goal while on a much safer combo. Eaton's have their place but they just run much too hot to compete with the other forms of FI.

Yeah, the only thing is, my help (my Dad) is very familiar with superchargers. More so than turbos. He can do custom pipe work etc though so I guess the turbo shouldn't be a problem? The twin screw Kenne Bell would be the best option if they sold a kit (as far as our prior experience and ease of installation etc is concerned).

Edit: He said a turbo wouldn't be a problem if you guys were willing to give some guidance if/when needed which I told him I don't think would be a problem. That is if we encounter something we cannot figure out.

Sounds like a plan. I have already started to save for this project.

I know this is an old thread but do you still do tunes on 1996 explorer 5.0 ecu ? I put the whol
e drivetrain in a 1935 ford pickup but because Maf is not in original spot it runs lean and I want ecu programmed for it. Can you do that or do you know someone that does ?
