Ok, so I have determined that I need to replace my timing chain tensioners and guides. Here is the problem, my truck was built on 02/2002. There was change in design to the tensioners on 11/2002. I am getting conflicting information on the web as to which design goes to which time period. One set has three bolts and one set has two bolts. I realize the best way would be to pull the front cover and see what I need, but this truck is our primary vehicle and I can not have it down for more than a weekend. None of the parts stores keep these in stock.
Has anyone with an early 2002 4.6L engine replaced these? Can you tell me for sure if it was two or three bolts?
