I bought an external speaker for my CB so i could hear better... i didnt realize how big it was till it came. its 4" diameter- the casing total size is 5"x5". where should i put it?

- i was thinking of cutting the top of my center console and mounting it facing up flush with the surface... anyone like that idea?
1- anyone have an extra console lid to donate?

any other ideas would be great!

thanks

I mounted a switch panel on my console lid in my 94 I just went to the junkyard and got another lid it was like 10 bucks so it was worth it to not screw up my orginal it turned out really good

Under the passenger seat?

hmm, i like alecs idea too- i guess im gonna have to test it out to see how loud it is to determine the best hiding spot.

under drivers dash? lots of room in there

i was thinking the drivers dash but i got a viper remote start/alarm system there (thats 2 control modules and a whole lotta wiring).. and the sensors there so i wanna stay away from there.

5"x5" is pretty big

In the back of your headrest :D

Seriously though, under a seat like Alec suggested would be a good idea.

I had the same problem with my Cb and mounting the speaker under the seat is bad for a couple of reasons. 1 under the seat you may not hear it any better and 2 if you ever get water inside the truck say goodbye to the speaker. I got a small non powered speaker for my CB from radioshack and mounted it on the dashboard with some velcro and it is plenty loud. I can hear it on the highway with the windows down over the humming of the 35s. I dunno if you noticed it anytime you saw my truck but it was right next to the radar detector.
