to start from the top i went out and bought a pair of 4 door leaf srings to jack the end of my truck up a bit. heres the situation now. there is a upside down u shaped thing that holds the monoleaf i have now and a few other block things to the axel. if i were to put on the 4 doors the extra lenth will be to much and there will be no room to hold the screws on. is there somthing i am missing, like a longer U thing( if some could tell me the real name of it i wont fell so stupid saying "u thing") but what is the deal here? alec, you had somthing like this so your input would help bunches.

here are pictures for you to scan over and see what im takling about. hope to god this helps cuz i want this lift to happen tomorow.......

:(

U Bolts ~ imagine that ;)

My 4 door leaf packs had 2 extra leaves in them (double AAL) and the stock bolts that came with my monoleafs worked fine.

Longer U bolts can be bought at any autoparts store

Also, you will remove the monoleaf and the blocks under it (they are bolted together) The blocks are put there so the same ubolts will work for 2 doors and 4 doors

Just take off the monoleaf and the spacers, and the 4-door leafs should bolt right on. The U bolts should be long enough.

my god your a genius! U bold huh? Ill look into it, you might just be wrong:D so how does it lift the X end up if there is less space taken up. the spacers and monoleaf seem to be way longer than just your average 4 door pack?

The 4 door leaf doesn't flex as much, so it ends up lifting the back. Also, the monoleaf tends to sag a lot after a short while, so by swapping to the leaf pack, you eliminate the sag, and thus it "lifts" the rear.

so i got it all worked out after all huh. i was freaked for nothing. and i spent like 15 on the cement in 40 degree weather with the wind blowing(not thinking to shut the garage door) to take those pics. damn it was cold:eek: . you guys are life savers. thanks a lot.

Ok I have read your post a few times and think I have figured out what you are talking about. I hope this is what you are looking for.

What is out lined in yellow is your U-bolts you re-use these.

What is outlined in green you remove with the mono-leaf spring. After you remove these items you place the multi-leaf pack back in its place. Reuse the old u-bolts and torque to specs.

Get a Chilton/Haynes Manual, they have lots of good info like the torque specs and such.

Once again I hope this helps / is what you are looking for.

Hey Doc it took me longer to redo his pic and post it than it did for you to explain it. LOL :p
