Has anyone came up with a 4 link rear end for a early model X? I was thinkin about makin a four link rear with coils for mine and I was wondering if anyone had some infoe on it? I was hoping to try and get 37 - 40 inch tires on it. If anyone does please let me know because I am very interisted in doing this within the next year or so?

I have done it and I can do it.

You are also going to have to modify a lot of things to clear 40" tires. The 4-link alone won't have any affect on that.

To link the rear you have to remove the stock gas tank. It is in the way of the upper, and possibly lower mounts depending on how the suspension is designed.

That means moving to a fuel cell setup or swapping in a BII gas tank and having some fuel lines made.

Also to run 40s you are going to have to trim a LOT of sheetmetal as well as do a solid axle swap up front as well as swap out the rear. Stock stuff can't handle 35" tires too well let alone anything bigger. For 40s I would run a pair of D60s as D44s won't cut it for much over a 36-37.

This won't be cheap. There is a lot of work involved and a lot of pricey parts to buy.
