How to: 2nd Gen 4wd Troubleshooting Guide
Discussion in 'Transmissions & Transfer Cases' started by gijoecam, January 2, 2008.
STEP: My 4wd light comes on, but it isn't working: Now What?!!?
Folks, this is where I am at. I got to: 97-01 4-door and 96-01 Sports. down to Step 3). I COULD turn the front driveshaft. So now I humbly request any & all help. This is my first thread, and your help will be most appreciated.
This is a 1999 Explorer XLT, 4 door, 4.0 OHV engine with automatic transmission.
June 17, 2019: This is in reference to my front wheels do not pull in any 4WD position. Can anyone tell me if you should have voltage on the Transfer Case Electronic Shift Motor Plug, Pin #14 (Orange) with the shift selector in 4X4 HI and Pin #15 in 4X4 LO (Yellow). I presently do not have power indicated when the selector is in either position with the engine running. I do have power to Pin #16 (Brown). I suspect I have a bad Transfer Case Shift Relay. The transfer case does shift into and out of low range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
