I HAVE A 1994 EXPLORER XLT 4 DOOR 4X4 EARLIER THIS YEAR I HAD IT IN 4WD AND HEARD A LOUD CLUNK OUT OF THE LEFT FRONT. NOW THAT IT IS WINTER I NEED THE 4WD, WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON FOR 4WD HIGH THE LIGHT COMES ON AND I HEAR IT CLICK IN, BUT WHEN I MOVE IT MAKES A CLICKING NOUSE IN THE LEFT HUB AREA AND DOES NOT ENGUAGE ALL THE WAY. WHILE DRIVING IN 4WD HIGH I HEAR A BAD CLUNKING NOISE OUT OF THE LEFT FRONT THAT I FEEL THROUGH THE FLOOR PLEASE HELP WITH ANY INFO YOU HAVE THANKS ED

Go get you some warn lock in hubs . I bought mine for about 200 dollars for the hubs and about 30 dollars for the conversion kit . Ford automatic hubs arent worth a dang. well the hubs on the newer modles are real good . I have a 92 and a 98 and the ninety eights hubs are great

Ditto mrjones98e! You probably blew the hub.

Put it in 4x4, pull forward, you hear the clicking. Back up about 10-15 feet. Then pull forward again. The clicking should go away. My brothers did. He needs new hubs though. That was right before they went out. But that will take the clicking away.
