Last night I put my '99 Sport into 4low, as I do from time to time just to make sure everything is OK. I did not drive around as I was on pavement. I put the tranny in neutral, turned the switch to Low and it "clunked" into gear as it should. But then it began jumping back and forth between Low and High clunking each time and the light on my dash followed. Once I put it into gear it locked into Low, but each time I went back to neutral, it would start switching between High and Low again. I turned the car off and on again and it did not do this again, but I am a little worried. I figure I better get it fixed before real problems occur.

Anyone have this problem?

Some people with that problem have solved it by re-setting the computer.
Try disconnecting the negative cable on the battery for a least 15 minutes, then reconnect it and start the engine and let it idle for about 15 minutes then take it for a drive at normal operating conditions for about 30 minutes. Then give the 4low a test.
Hope this solves your problem.

Thanks...I'll try it tonight.

Where are you at in LA, I'm in the valley.

I grew up in North Hollywood, but now I live in Santa Monica because I work in Century City.

You?

I too grew up in the Valley, Van Nuys. I now live in Northridge and work in Woodland Hills, pretty much just as valley guy.

Where do you off road?

I go to Alamo mountain area, Frazer Park, Red Rock and all over. This weekend I'm going to Glamis and then to Yuma for the weekend. Last month we went to Kern River and the Sherman Pas jeep trail.
What about you?

Mostly local, like Rower Flat, Hungry Valley and the San Gabriel River in the Angeles National Forest. Also when the trout season is on I like to play around Mammoth and Bridgeport. Have been to Frazier too.
