4dr. rear seat in a 2dr... possible??

I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be possible to swap my 50/50 rear seat in my 95 2dr with a 60/40 or 70/30 split rear seat that allows a 3rd rear passanger to sit comfortably without receiveing an **** probe from the seat belt brackets on the 50/50 seat??

Anybody try this, or any ideas/problems? Thanks

Yeah I'm sure you could fit one in there with some possible modificatoins, but the 60/40 split rear seat in the 4dr folds down differently, so you may not be able to get the rear to fully fold down, limiting your cargo capacity. And hey, who cares about your passengers anyways? They should be so lucky to be riding in your truck in the first place!

Nobody has tried this, or even thought of doing it, eh? I think it was not smart of ford to make the sports only capable of carrying four people comfortably. Does anyone know of an aftermarket seat that would have what I'm looking for?

The 4 door has a longer wheel base and the extra room is not in the legroom for the back seats, it's mostly in the cargo space behind the rear seat. Therefore the rear seat in the 4 door model is in front of the rear wheel wells. Well, most of it anyway, the front section of the seat is. On the Sport they intrude right where the back seat is and neccessitates a narrower rear seat.

I don't think you're going to be able to do what you're talking about.

not possible.... your best bet for **** probe protection would be maybe to move the seat belt mounting points... move the middle ones out towards the fenders... my girlfriend wants me to do a slight mod like this for an child seat for the 2 door i may be purchasing this week. but we dont have a kid yet TG
