Hello, I am new to this forum. My '93 4L V6 2WD is in need of a rebuild soon and I was wondering what the best bang-for-the-buck mods are. Cam? Are the stock heads worth using? I will no longer need an emissions test in IL so, that is not an issue. Thanks, Jeff

hey jeff, brian here, i have been looking for some of the answers. i have search hundreds of threads and not found any info that would make me change what i have so far. i believe the best thing for us is to look at professional engine build-up company's. i know 4.0L is not a very common build up, but have run into a few guys at shows with nos or superchargers with upgraded heads, rods, in/out port rework, ignition, exhaust, etc... but no documentation. i will always stay on the hunt and if i find some good doc's i will let you know! please do the same, thanks brian!

thanks for the responses. I have a 93 with a 4L and it is tempting to just try to fit a small carburated V8 (289, 302) with 4 speed. In Illinois I no longer have an emissions test required.

Some of those guys have made very impressive numbers with their 4.0's. I may actually employ many of their mods when I do my engine rebuild in a year or two ;)

yowch...looks like they had a crash and lost everything! That blows :(
