1996 Explorer Sport V6 4x4 4R55 Tranny.
Had to have it rebuilt (or so they said they rebuilt it) due to fly wheel breaking. Said they rebuilt it while it was out.
Prior to flywheel problem and rebuilding when I hit 90MPH it was jerk or cut-out, or something. I never pushed it past that to see what would happen, if it was just pass that jerking and speed on or whatever.
I thought I read somewhere at some time there was a sort of governor on it. I may be wrong on that. You guys will no better then me.
Anyway, after this so called rebuild it now jerks and clunks (don't know what term to use for the sound) at 60MPH and intermediately after that speed. When it jerks I can feel the more in the rearend more than anywhere else.
I think the jerk/clunk I hear and feel in in the rear in when it catches a gear or something.
Checked the fluid level and it too full.
Could someone with much more knowledge than I shed some light on this for me? I'm confused.
