Hi,I have a customer with a 98 Explorer 4.0 and auto trans.About 3 months ago on a trip away from home, the check engine light came on and shortly after he pulled over and stopped. The engine shuddered and died.Started right up but as soon as he put it in drive, stalled again.Next day it started and drove fine and he took it a shop where they said both o2 sensors on the right side were bad. They replaced them, light was off and trans worked fine for 700 miles. Then the light came on and same problem with trans. If you drive it at highway speed for 3-4 miles,it will stall every time you stop,Restarts fine but stalls whether you shift to reverse, drive 2 or 1.The only time it won't stall is if you shift to 1 while you are slowing down and let it shift into first then you can stop and it's fine.If you shift back to drive and get up to about 25 mph and stop it will stall. The only code is for the #2 o2 sensor on the right bank. The scanner shows the tcc is un-applied when it stalls.I've checked the wiring for bad spots-nothing.Sorry this post was so long but I wanted to give as much info as possible.Any ideas? Thanks,Bob
