I'm new here and have read many of Glacier's post. I'm trying to approach this problem very slowly so I don't do any unnecessary work. Please be patient! I have a 96 Ford Explorer and have gotten a DTC code of p0756. I removed the pan and the solenoid to bore 202 (3-4 shift/OD). I have noticed that the regulator is way inside this bore (2-1/2 inches) and has no spring to it. Is this normal or is this my problem. I have done many of the checks associated with this DTC code and nothing appears to be a problem. Please give me plenty of advice. It will be welcomed.

Thank you Brooklyn for the diagrahm. I still need an answer to the question of depth of the regulator and spring pressure that should be on it (SSB) solenoid. Also there is a converter clutch solenoid shown before the TCC solenoid on the diagrahm you posted. Is this right? Everything I've seen and in my ATSG manual list the TCC solenoid as the first solenoid. SSD is listed as the second solenoid. SSB as the third solenoid and EPC as the fourth solenoid.
