4wd , 4wd low lights blinking

i have a 01 4.0 4wd . when driving home from out of town the 4wd and 4 low lights started blinking. like 4, 5 pulses then off for a minute or two, them 4, 5 pulses then off again. I can not find any trouble codes on my scanner for this and am wondering if anyone has an idea maybe... hope you all have a nice weekend...

You need a better scanner to read the ABS, 4wd, and transmission codes. I’m sure there’s a chart here if they are actually blinking a code. Abs light on?

do not have abs.its just 5 flashes, then a pause, 5 flashes then a pause..
I was looking for a scan sheet here, could not find one

You mean it doesn’t have an ABS light on? Surely it has ABS.

It’s possible it doesn’t blink a specific code, and you’ll need to get it scanned.

Mine does not have ABS. just a base xlt

I’ve never heard of a second gen without ABS. Pretty sure you have it. Also, the base model is probably the XLS.
