Hey all,
2004 ST XLT premium. 4.11 gears. Auto trans.
I have an issue of a loud "clunk" with accompanying shudder in the truck when I'm in 4WD HI or LOW. This is NOT on pavement. It is while on the beach in loose sand. It doesn't do it at speeds less than 5MPH. I don't have any issues with getting into or out of 4WD so I wouldn't think it would be the shift motor. I'm assuming its the transfer case. I read several threads saying there is a chain in the T-Case. Is there any way to adjust this chain?
Recently changed the T-case fluid and didn't see any metal in the fluid.
