I have a 93 EB. I didn't do anything with the hubs, but have the same problem. I did notice that the Electronic Shift Module has some kind of diagnostic stuff on it (red LED and a push-button switch). Don't know what it does, but would like to find out.

Can you hear the module clicking in the rear of the car?

No, can't hear a thing. I've checked all the fuses, but the thing is dead.

Check the switch (probably the easiest way is to put it in another explorer and see if it works). If the switch is ok, then chek the module (I think you can scan trouble codes or something, but someone else will have to tell you how to do it). If the module is ok it has to be the wiring, get a wiring diagram from a ford dealer and track down the problem. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the switch, and that's not the problem. I am hoping that somebody knows how the diagnostic works on the module. Thanks again!
