4WD lights are flashing.

hello to everyone out there! new 2 the site. glad 2 have found it.

well here goes.. my friend has a 99 sport, sohc 4.0 & for the past several months the 2wd & 4wd lights flash Together approx. every 2 minutes consistantly going down the road. the truck switches between the two modes normally and has no drivability problems. its just the lights were concerned about. any thoughts?? thanx

My '99 4.0 Ranger did this once...I can't remember why. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes, hooked her back up and the problem was resolved.
