4WD lights flash, and the power windows don't work.

Both 4wd lights flash once in a while and when this happens none of the electric windows work. Everything else works fine.

to the original poster.. if im not mistaken i read somewhere that the GEM also controls the windows? not sure, but its worth some searching on the site as blinky 4x4 lights have been discussed and diagnosed plenty of times. anyways.. sounds like a wiring or module issue.

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed, and moved your thread to the transmission section. It does sound like a GEM related issue.

I think I figured it out, for now anyway. There is a set of 7 relays under the dash. One of them is for the "one touch window down". I swapped it with another relay with the same numbers and it happens less often. When it does happen, I tap the relays and the problem goes away. Will buy new relays soon.

This same thing happens to me! i got my X like two days ago its a 95 xlt also
