what do you guys think of the idea to install a lock-rite locker in the front but leave the stock l/s in the rear? i think that would be the ideal setup for everyday driving and offroading. i dont want to pay a lot of money for a rear locker that provides smoother operation because i dont take it into the rocks or anything really serious, and if i bought a regular automatic locker it would click when i went around turns.

That sounds like a good combo, just make sure you have manual hubs. But in a 91, your stock l/s is probably worn out.

yeah, i already suspected that. but an 80 dollar rebuild kit works better with my budget than a 400 dollar locker.
