Greetings everyone. This is my first post.
I have a great running stock 1998 4WD Ranger XLT.
I had to use the 4WD in high a few days ago to get through a muddy driveway. I bottomed out in a hole, but made it through OK. It will not engage in 4WD low.
However, now my AC blows through the defroster mostly. I can set it on vent or just AC and as long as I'm not requiring power, the AC will blow through the vents.
My research shows that the 4WD hubs have a lot of problems with vacuum leaks. I have also seen some info on converting to manual AVM hubs. I have used the 4WD 3 times in 4 years.
So, questions:
Where are the vacuum lines at the hubs?
Can they be plugged?
Would you plug them if converting to manual hubs?
Where else should I look for leaks?
