4x4 help

hello i got a 2002 explorer v8. i left it for a week at a park and fly parking lot when i started it up to leave i got my 4x4low and 4x4 high lights blinking 3 times when i first start it up. then while im driveing every once in a while it will blink again 3 times and when i got home i noticed that my 4x4 auto was not working because it did not make it up my driveway. Is my 4x4 shot any info would be great thanks.

4x4 module on the transfer case is what the cause may be. Check the harness plug it may be loose. The actuator may need to be cleaned also.

The blinking 4wd indicators mean something is wrong with the system. In the 2002s this almost always turns out to be a failed 4X4 Control Module. There are a number of very long threads in here about this issue, here's one:

If you do a little searching you will easily find other threads. Almost always it's 2002s. Ford revised the modules and you can find them new at online retailers for under $200. I suggest you read some of the threads in here then order a new module and install it yourself. You will save several hundred bucks.
