4x4 issues 1999 Ranger

My 4 by 4 High and 4 by 4 Low indicator lights are blinking while driving. Also it will not engage into 4 wheel drive. Could someone point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance, Stroupe

You should get the codes read. Do you have an ABS light on as well? Most likely you have a sensor issue. Getting the codes pulled will point you to which one.
