87 bronco deuce
87 bII eddie bauer 2.9 bw1350 od auto lock hubs auto tranny..............

C&K transmissions in Denver just rebuilt tranny and added a tranny cooler. I was charged $1500.

shortly after the repair I pressed the 4h button on the console and everything engaged properly and all was well......until well went away. I was on a steep incline and the 4l light started flashing non-stop. I stopped forward progress applied ebrake, put tranny in N, and got out my First printing 1987 owner guide, to investigate the problem.

After following the instructions from the owners guide, with no resolution, I limped the truck around 6 miles to my brothers house. All the while 4H light on 4L flashing, 4wd engaged. Everything drove excellent no other problems.

I whipped put the 1987 FORD SHOP MANUAL, and the 1983-90 CHILTON'S. I read....and read.......and read......then my dad read........he falls asleep when he reads.....especially at 3am......so I read some more....

I flicked on my brothers computer and clicked away.......I researched all my normal haunts...pirate 4x4,broncoII4x4co,colorado4x4, broncoII,explorerforum. and nothing. Web searched and read for 30 hours. With minimal sleep and maximum frustration, I removed the electric shift motor. and changed it to 2h with my fingers.....not channel locks.....I didnt use channel locks.......I had to cut the wire feed to the magnetic clutch......
I drove home with the shift motor wrapped in a shoptowel. Truck is driving fine now but the clouds are coming to Denver and I am gonna hate crawling under my truck with channel locks in the snow to engage 4h. Did i just say channel locks? Sh*t.

Anybody in the universe have a response that might assist me. This is the first time I really have NEEDED to post on any of the sites that I visit. Thnx all 4 reading.
