Hi. My 4 wheel driving isn't working. It actually hasn't been working for a while, but since winter is coming soon, I'd like to get it fixed now.

When I press the button on the dash, the light doesn't light up. I have the same problem when I push the low range button. When I push the buttons, I've noticed a clicking noise coming from the inside rear of the truck near the driver's side rear wheel well. On one occation, I got it to turn on after pushing it countless times for about 20 minutes.. but I don't have the patience for that.

Is this a quick fix or is it more of a serious problem?

To get 4x4 Low to work, the truck must be in neutral with your foot on the brake, and it might not instantly "pop" in 4x4, it might take a few seconds to shift......Just a suggestion

Do a search

Sounds like your shift motor on the transfer case and maybe a auto hub going out:(

I've had this happen to me as well, but I think it is the wiring...after I hit the dash a couple of times it works right away!!! do it the Russian way!!! hehe

so it might be that, but ya never know...you said you heard a noise when ya click the buttons at once...I'd agree with one of the guys up there^...it might be a hub or the shift motor
