This topic has been discussed many timea in the past and there are several posts that describe what to look for and how to repair it. I see you are new to the boards and if you haven't tried a search it is very easy. Click on the search button at the top of the page and follow the setps, entering the topic you are looking for. Its that easy. If you don't find the answer you were looking for try cahnging the wording around (instead of 4x4 try 4wd, etc..).
Probably the electric motor that engages the transfer case has gone bad. When I had mine replaced at the dealer it ran around $300. This is a fairly common problem.
