4x4 won't engage

OK..so i hit the 4x4 button on my 94' and nothing happens...no light, no shifting. Any idea where to start looking? I checked the fuse first, and it's fine, so now what? Thanks in advance!

I had to smack my sylanoid with a hammer with my friend pressing the 4x4 button and then it worked. I then put it in and out of 4x4 several times. There is a spring in there and if you don't use it much it can stick.

I tried your "trick"...i got under there and beat on it with a ratchet a few times, now it works perfect!
